The Hallé Choir is offering choral singing scholarships to sing with the Hallé Choir. The scholarships will support singers, aged 18 and over, who are in full-time education and who wish to expand their singing experience by joining the Hallé Choir.

By becoming full members of the Hallé Choir, the Choral scholars will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform major choral repertoire with the Hallé Choir and the Hallé Orchestra. This season includes Boulanger’s Psalm 130, Mahler’s 2nd Symphony and Beethoven’s Symphony Number 9 ‘Choral.’

Choral scholarships will be awarded subject to a successful audition in September/October. Successful candidates will receive an award of up to £600 for the academic year (to be paid in 2 instalments, one in January and one in June.) This will be dependent on participation in major choir projects across the season.

Applicants will be enthusiastic and experienced choral singers with excellent vocal abilities, and be able to demonstrate commitment and dedication to the choir and its activities.

Choral scholars will be expected to fulfil the Hallé Choir commitment and attendance requirements and to adhere to the general rules and regulations for all choir members. They will also benefit from all the opportunities afforded to choir members.
