The Hallé’s lunchtime Chamber Series at Hallé St Peter’s provides a unique opportunity to hear players and guest artists perform in more intimate surroundings.

The Hallé Brass Quintet return to St Peter’s with a programme featuring one of the first pieces ever written for the combination, Ewald’s Symphony for Brass Choir. Written in St Petersburg, this romantic work showcases the warmth and the virtuosity made possible by advances in instrument design in the 19th century.

The other major work, Previn’s Four Outings for Brass, features a different instrument as soloist in each movement, and the programme is completed by arrangements ranging from Scarlatti to Villa-Lobos.
