Book nowExperience Jonny Greenwood’s immersive work ‘605 Years of Reverb’ in this unique event, set in the stunning surroundings of Manchester Cathedral.
Organists Anna Lapwood and James McVinnie team up to take on this immense piece, written by Jonny Greenwood to commemorate and celebrate the unique legacy of organs in historic buildings.
Drawing upon influences from Indian music, the work gradually builds in texture and complexity, slowly introducing new musical ideas and striking new sound worlds. ‘Melodies in Indian music are often thought of as circular, rather than linear,’ says Greenwood, ‘You’re climbing on to a moving wheel, not starting and ending in silence.’
A truly unique experience – music will fill the space and light will move around Manchester Cathedral as the sun sets throughout the event, ending as darkness falls.

Hallé Featured Artist 2025-26“I'm so excited to get the chance to play alongside the Hallé so many times this season! I made my BBC Proms solo debut with the Hallé back in 2021 - a Proms debut is always a pivotal moment, and so the orchestra has held a special place in my heart ever since. We're going to be exploring some really fun repertoire together, too, from the 'war horses' by Saint-Saëns, Poulenc and Jongen, to brand new concerts by Max Richter and Kristina Arakelyan. It will also be great to be reunited with the wonderful Marcussen organ of The Bridgewater Hall, which works so well for all of this repertoire. I hope to see you there!”

Hallé Presents Featured Artist 2025-26“It's exciting - and daunting - to be working again with the might Hallé: they have such a storied history, and yet refuse to be hidebound. I'm looking forward to their upcoming presentation of three of my compositions - Horror Vacui, Water and X Years of Reverb.”
