Summer Concerts – Unity
Bring your class to hear the Hallé Orchestra live in concert! Much like our world, an orchestra is a diverse community, with different instruments, different sounds and different roles – but the music only works when everyone belongs and makes their individual contribution. Join us to celebrate the power of inclusivity!
Previously known as our Come & Play concerts, pupils have the option to prepare two play-along pieces and bring their instruments to the KS2 performances. Schools are also welcome to just come to watch or come and sing. The KS1 performances only contains a sing-along. Our Concerts for Schools performed by the Hallé at The Bridgewater Hall, one of the country’s finest concert halls, provide a live music experience for young people who, in most cases, have never heard a symphony orchestra before. All schools will receive free resources in advance of the concert, to have fun in your music classes, make Model Music Curriculum links and prepare the pupils for the concert visit.
This season, there will be performances for Key Stage 1, 2 and 3:
- Tuesday 16th June 2027 – 10:30 (KS1, includes optional singalong)
- Wednesday 23rd June 2027 – 10:30 (KS2*, includes optional play-along and sing-along)
- Wednesday 23rd June 2027 – 13:30 (KS2*, includes optional play-along and sing-along)
*although aimed at KS2, the performances would also be appropriate for KS3 to attend.
We advise to arrive 45 minutes prior to the concert start time.
Running time approximately 65 minutes.
If your school is attending a concert with the Hallé you might be interested in booking a Concert Prep Workshop. These in-school workshops are designed to prepare the class for being in the audience in a formal concert setting and introduce some of the music that will be performed through fun music-based activities. More information on booking a Concert Prep Workshop can be found here: https://halle.co.uk/project/concert-prep-workshops/
