Carers and charities

Workshops take place every month at the Claremont Resource Centre in Hulme with Hallé violinist, Paulette Bayley, who plays traditional Caribbean folk songs & dances for the service users.

Two of our Hallé musicians, Christine Davey and Ric Parmigiani, visit the L’Arche centre in Withington every month to work with local communities. The ethos of L’Arche is a culture of shared lives between people with and without disabilities, from which we can work together to build a more human society.

The Hallé regularly invite local Ancoats charity, Mustard Tree, to our relaxed concerts and rehearsals, many of whom have never seen a live classical orchestra before.

Every month the Hallé welcomes carers across Greater Manchester to our Wednesday matinee concert series, which provides much-needed respite from caring responsibilities. Quote from a carer: ‘It is a lovely way to relax away from the demands of my caring role and to enjoy beautiful music in the wonderful Bridgewater Hall’.
