Back in 1893, we performed Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony in a concert directed by Charles Hallé. The performance happened 9 months to the day before the composer died.  

Our long-term Principal Violin, Adolph Brodsky, was a friend of Tchaikovsky, who rededicated his Violin Concerto to Brodksy as a thanks for giving its first public performance.
