On this day back in 1947, The Hallé appeared at the first ever Edinburgh Festival! We found this concert tour dates advert in an old publication from the same year. We visited a number of cities during August and September, including Sheffield, Huddersfield, Leeds, Middlesbrough, Swansea, Bristol, and many others!
Colin Currie and the Hallé begin this exciting mini-fest of Steve Reich’s music in February with Music for Pieces of Wood and Music for Ensemble and Orchestra. For Reich’s major choral and orchestral work The Desert Music, members of the RNCM Chamber Choir also take to the stage.
