Huw Watkins Symphony No.2 wins South Bank Sky Arts 2022 Classical Music award
The Hallé are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a South Bank Sky Arts Award 2022 for our performance of Huw Watkins’s Second Symphony.
The symphony was commissioned by the Hallé and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and the premiere was given by the Hallé as part of our Winter 2021 Digital Season.
The awards ceremony was shown on Sky Arts at 10pm on Wednesday 13 July 2022.
The Hallé performed the work again at The Bridgewater Hall in March 2023.
