“This award is crucial, both in helping ensure the Orchestra’s future, and enabling it to continue its work off the platform throughout all of Greater Manchester. Each year Hallé players and staff reach out to over 50,000 young people and disadvantaged people from every part of our region. Our work with the elderly, in care homes and with people facing major life challenges is only possible because of the faith placed in us by GMCA and our other funders, sponsors, supporters and of course our magnificent audiences.

The Hallé employs over eighty world class musicians who have made Greater Manchester their home, playing to up to 100,000 people all around the country and hundreds of thousands more through broadcast media. We are proud ambassadors for Greater Manchester everywhere we go, and this award will allow our work to flourish in the years ahead.”
