Dance and tango through the seasons with blazing brilliance.

Roberto Ruisi, one of the dynamic Leaders of the Hallé Orchestra, takes you on a whirlwind tour through the seasons. Visit 18th-century Italy with Baroque genius Vivaldi and 20th-century Argentina with nuevo tango maestro Piazzolla.

Spectacular showpieces for violin soloist, there’s no conductor tonight – just Ruisi’s instincts and the formidable teamwork of the orchestra.

Vivaldi’s scene-painting is amazing: spring brings a babbling brook and a barking dog, summer features a frenetic thunderstorm, hear the crackle of leaves underfoot in the autumn and the icy rain of winter.

Piazzolla’s striking composition packs in tango music, early 20th-century classical influences, jazz and blues amid the changing seasons of Buenos Aires.
