The Hallé’s lunchtime Chamber Series at Hallé St Peter’s provides a unique opportunity to hear players and guest artists perform in more intimate surroundings.

Hallé oboist Virginia Shaw has a second passion – the Japanese Shō Made of bamboo pipes, this mouth organ is said to mimic the call of the phoenix – a legendary sound indeed! East meets West in music for oboe and string quartet by Takemitsu, and in pieces for Shō by the late Belgian composer, Wim Henderickx.
