The Hallé’s lunchtime Chamber Series at Hallé St Peter’s provides a unique opportunity to hear players and guest artists perform in more intimate surroundings.

Roberto Ruisi and friends open the season with two works by two Mendelssohns.  Written when Felix was only 16, the Octet’s energy, charm and bubbling counterpoint make it one of the most enjoyable and beloved pieces of chamber music – whether for the performer or the listener. It is preceded by the string quartet Fanny wrote ten years later – a slightly darker and more romantic work.

Join us after the concert for a delve in to the Hallé archive with Archivist Eleanor Roberts.
