Hallé at St Michael’s is a second space in Ancoats for the Hallé’s artistic and education activities and provides space for community events.

Venue and access information

Car Parking

Visitors to events at Hallé Venues who do come by car can access a special rate at the Ancoats Mobility Hub on Poland Street, a short walk away from both our Ancoats venues.

The rate is £4.95 for up to 5 hours.

Payment is via a QR code, only displayed and available in the venues, which visitors scan on departure of the venue and pay via an online portal. It is not possible to pre-book parking and receive this rate.

Other paid Car Parks are available, within a short walking distance. Rates vary.

On street parking

There are a small number of paid street parking bays (two hour time limit) on Blossom Street itself and further street bays on adjacent streets including George Leigh Street, Sherratt Street, Jersey Street and Cornell Street.

Charges are £1.20 for two hours. Parking in the bays is free of charge between 6pm and 8am and on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

A very limited amount of free street parking on single yellow lines is available after 6pm and before 8am.

Visitors are advised to park wisely and in keeping with the conditions of the Highway Code. Cars parked illegally will be ticketed and in extremis, removed.

Disabled Parking

Drivers displaying a blue badge can use the aforementioned parking bays for free and for an unlimited time. Blue Badge Holders may also park for up to three hours on single or double yellow lines as long as there are no loading restrictions and the clock on the badge is set to show the time of arrival. Again visitors are advised to park wisely and in keeping with the conditions of the Highway Code. Cars parked illegally will be ticketed and in extremis, removed.

All staff are trained in customer care, diversity and disability awareness. They are here to help visitors enjoy the time they spend in our venue. If there is anything that we can do to make your visit more enjoyable, please contact us, we will be happy to assist you.

Access Statement

Although we make every attempt to make Hallé at St Michael’s as accessible as possible, aspects of the building make it difficult to make everything fully accessible. St Michael’s is an old building with a narrow staircase to the gallery and as such it is not possible for wheelchair users to access the first floor.
